Government is doing several things to reduce crime incidents. But in the present crime incidents are going up in rural areas. In 2009 more than 50,000 crime incidents are reported. 18 poor families are living in government land in Nagoda Divisional Secretariat in Galle from several years. In 1980s Government gave temporary licenses to these people.
