Suicide Rate in Sri Lanka
There is a decline in the country’s suicide rate, the Sumithrayo Organization says. Police records show that the highest suicide rate of 8,519 was recorded in 1995, which has seen a gradual decline through the years. 4,225 suicides have been recorded in 2007.
සුමිත්රයෝ සංවිධානය පිවන පරිදි ශ්රී ලංකාවේ සිය දියි හානිකරගැනීමේ ප්රවණතාවය බොහෝ සෙයින් පහත ගොස් තිබෙනවා. පොලිස් වාර්තිවලට අනුව ශ්රී ලංකාවේ වාර්තිගත ඉහලම සියදිවි හානිකර ගැනීම් සංඛ්යාව 8519 ක්. ඒ 1995 වසරේදී. නමුත් 2007 වසර වන විට එම සංඛ්යාව 4225 ක් දක්වා පහත බැස තිබෙනවා.
